Brandt Engineering based in Dallas is the leading mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor in the state of Texas, with 1,100 field employees.
When the safety incentive program the company was using not only failed to motivate employees to strive for safety but encouraged “entitlement mentality,” Brandt decided it was time for a change.
“As with most companies, we are trying to improve our accident ratio,” says Katrina Fantin, Director of Human Resources. “The program we were using wasn’t moving the bar. I started to do some research and liked what Bill Sims had to offer.”
“We’re two months into the program, but we’ve seen really good success and there is a lot of enthusiasm, especially about winning one of the fabulous trips,” Fantin says. “We’ve had really good call in rates to the SmartCard hotline.”
Fantin says participation has been impressive, with 75 percent of employees already on board by the program’s second month.
Fantin adds that the program’s turnkey operation is very easy to administer.
“The support we have received from The Bill Sims Company staff has been fantastic.” She says.
